Testing & Approval
In 1997 we were approached by the Australian Prison Authorities to produce a virtually indestructible mirror for monitoring prisoners in prison cells.
We excelled at this task, developing the DuraVision™ Cell Observation Mirror.
Australian Architects have conducted independent tests on four alternative international suppliers. The DuraVision™ Cell Mirror proved its strength, exceeding all expectations.
The test was simple, yet effective. A very large volunteer officer was asked to jump on and kick a convex ceiling mirror lying on the ground. One of the four alternatives broke, and was found to be an acrylic mirror, not polycarbonate. The other two alternatives had severe delamination after only 10 blows. The DuraVision™ Cell Mirror, however, survived 100 blows with some mild mirror surface scuffing and only minor delamination around the edge, a problem which has now been resolved successfully.
